CFA Wins CMMA Trophy and Special Citations

29 October 2008

MANILA, Philippines – The Communication Foundation for Asia (CFA) received the Best Website trophy and four special citations in the 30th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) held on 29 October 2008 at the GSIS Theater in Pasay City.

Initiated by the late Jaime L. Cardinal Sin in 1978, the CMMA is considered as one of the most credible award-giving bodies in the Philippines. Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales serves as its honorary chairman.

The website (www.cfamedia.org) that bagged the much-coveted Best Website trophy was designed and maintained by Fr Stephen Cuyos, MSC. The special citations were given to Gospel Komiks magazine, Barkada magazine and to two stories from CFA’s popular publications.

CFA was founded by Fr Cornelius Lagerwey, a Dutch MSC who made it his mission and motto “to serve God through the media”. CFA is under the auspices of MSC, who involve themselves in media ministry to make the Sacred Heart of Jesus known and loved everywhere. The current president of CFA is Fr Fil Pelingon, MSC.

Congratulations Fr. Stephen, CFA and the MSCs, you’ve made it two years in a row. On a side note, this web site deserves a similar recognition. Keep it up!

Thanks Fr. Stephen for the invitation to join MSC Philippine Province Friendster group. This looks like a ‘groundbreaking comment’ coming from a former MSC and i have to tiptoe a bit in this apparently new website of the Province. To start with, i had widgetized the MSC logo on my blog as a vocational ad. It feels good to get reconnected even virtually.

Just want to compliment Fr. Stephen for such a great website layout (as usual). The changed font for the comments now looks more friendly to both readers and commenters. Labjog mga MSC-kapamilya!
